The Profession of Pharmary and Pharmaceutical Establishments (UAE, Federal Law No. 4, 1983) in English

Federal Law No. 4 of 1983 regulated the profession of pharmacy and pharmaceutical establishments in the UAE for over three decades: who may practise as a pharmacist, how pharmacies, drug stores and pharmaceutical factories are licensed, and how medicines are imported and dispensed. The framework has since been recast — most importantly by the 2019 federal decree-law on medical products and the pharmacy profession — but licences, liabilities and disputes from the earlier era are still measured against the 1983 text.

Healthcare regulatory lawyers, pharmaceutical companies reviewing their UAE licensing history, and pharmacists verifying the rules that applied to past conduct are the typical readers.
